Apprenticed at Reviews by Jessewave

Reviews by Jessewave recently took a look at Apprenticed to Pleasure, and I'm glad to report the reviewer liked it. Here's an excerpt:

The world building is seen through Ander and his companions and ranges from details of the world surrounding them to (historical) background stories. It’s very subtly done and not an information dump. It was a good piece of writing.

The magic Thane and his initiates make is not gained through blood or torture, but sex. I suspected there’d be a lot of porn-like scenes with some chanting. It was way more subtly done and original and I praise the imaginative mind behind it. The sex magic is subtle and gentle rather than forceful and fake. Hot damn, you should read some of the scenes. I want some of those oils!
You can read the full review here.

I'd also like to thank those of you who've left reviews for the "Pledged to Magic" trilogy at Goodreads and Amazon.com. Excerpts from some of those might show up here, pending permission from the authors.

Apprenticed to Pleasure will be released on 2/10/2012

My novel Apprenticed to Pleasure will be released by Dreamspinner Press on February 10, 2012. This is a second edition. The text has been revised and improved, and the novel has a great new cover created by Catt Ford. If you're interested in autographs, the first twenty paperback copies purchased from the Dreamspinner Press website will have my autograph on a vellum sheet glued into the book binding. This novel has more of a 'sword and sorcery' flavor than The Finder, but it does have a science fiction angle that isn't revealed until the third novel in the trilogy. All three novels in the trilogy are being re-issued by Dreamspinner Press, and all three have been heavily revised. The second book in the trilogy even has a new opening chapter.

Review of The Finder at Man Oh Man Reviews

The Finder has a new review, this one from Man On Man Reviews. They liked it! Here's an excerpt:
Mr. Fox has a very good ear for dialogue and a very skilled way of painting the scene for his reader. You know the adage show don’t tell? Well, Mr. Fox does just that. He has created a world so vivid that one can see everything that is happening in their mind. I felt like I was watching a movie in my imagination while I was reading and was actually sad when I finished the last page, always a sign of a great book.

The characters in The Finder are all real, distinguished people who you feel and care about. You want to know what happens next and each one has their own voice and personality. The pacing of the book moves at a nice speed. It never felt slow or sluggish to me and the love scenes are hot as well as romantic; always a nice combination.

A review at Reviews by Jessewave

Reviews by Jessewave took a look at The Finder and liked it! Here's part of what they had to say:
When Rhan and Aeric meet for the first time, I really liked how the author managed to convey understandable wariness in Rhan while at the same time being attracted to Aeric’s smile. Their initial connection and the development of such a connection throughout the book just worked really well for me. I felt that despite a lot of grim things Rhan and Aeric go through, their connection was just full of joy. I cannot describe it any better than this; it just worked for me.
The reviewer also thought the plot was "very fun and exciting," which was great to hear. You can find the whole review here.
